Where is the Hotel Magerl located?
The Hotel Magerl ***Superior is located on the eastern shore of Lake Traunsee, on a sunny slope above Gmunden, with a magnificent view of Lake Traunsee and the surrounding mountains.
How far is the hotel centre from Gmunden?
The centre of Gmunden is conveniently located about a 10-minute walk away.
Is the hotel in a quiet location?
Yes, our guests particularly appreciate the quiet location on a sunny hillside, far away from traffic.
Is parking available at the hotel?
Yes. The Hotel Magerl offers its guests a free parking lot directly in front of the hotel. There is also a garage where bicycles can be parked free of charge.
Is there an electric charging station for electric cars?
Yes, there is an electric charging station available at the hotel.
Is the hotel barrier-free?
Yes, the Hotel Magerl is barrier-free.
The breakfast room is at ground level and the rooms are accessible by elevator.
Is the centre of Gmunden within walking distance?
Yes, the centre of Gmunden is about a 10-minute walk away.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately, pets are not permitted in our hotel.
What is the best way to travel there?
By car: A1, Laakirchen and Regau exits
Train/bus: From Gmunden main station, the tram goes directly to the ‘Schloß Weyer’ stop. From here, it is only a few minutes’ walk to reach us.
The ‘Sonnenpark’ bus stop is also only 50 metres away.
When is check-in possible?
Your room will be available from 3 p.m. on the day of arrival. Please let us know if you plan to arrive after 6 p.m. Key boxes are available for this purpose, for which you will need a personal code.
When do I have to vacate the room on the day of departure?
On the day of departure, we kindly ask you to vacate your room by 11 a.m.
When is the latest I can arrive at Hotel Magerl, and how does arrival work after reception closing time?
Regular check-in at Hotel Magerl is possible until 7:30 p.m.. If you arrive later, you can conveniently use our key safe. Please note that you will need the personal access code, which we will provide you with in advance. On Sundays and public holidays, the reception is open until 2 p.m. This allows you to arrive flexibly and still get to your room at Lake Traunsee without any stress.
Is there a playground for children?
There is no large playground with slides or similar facilities directly at the hotel. However, there is a public children’s playground very close by.
Is the Hotel Magerl suitable for families with children?
Yes, our hotel is family-friendly and well suited for guests with children. In addition to a small, lovingly designed playroom with games, cuddly toys and Lego, there is also a cosy library. There is also a public children’s playground in the immediate vicinity. The peaceful location on Lake Traunsee also offers plenty of space for shared activities in nature.

The following cancellation conditions apply:
- No fees up to 8 weeks before arrival
- Up to 4 weeks before arrival: 25%
- Up to 2 weeks before arrival: 50%
- Up to 3 days before arrival: 85%
- From 3 days before arrival: 100%
We recommend taking out cancellation and health insurance.

Yes, a generous breakfast buffet featuring regional products from the Salzkammergut is served daily – starting at 6 a.m.
Can I book my stay with breakfast or half board?
Yes, depending on your booking, breakfast, half board or full board are available.
Are regional products used?
Yes, the hotel attaches great importance to regional products and works closely with local suppliers.
Are special dietary requirements taken into account?
We offer vegetarian and vegan fresh products. Gluten-free meals can also be prepared upon request.

Our seminar rooms can accommodate up to 45 people, depending on the room and seating arrangement.
How many seminar rooms are available?
The Hotel Magerl has four seminar rooms ranging in size from 60 to 105 m² – ideal for different group sizes and event formats.
Is it possible to view the seminar rooms in advance?
We would be delighted to invite you to a tour of the premises and plan your event together with you.
Is the hotel suitable for seminars and groups?
Yes, the Hotel Magerl offers several seminar rooms, overnight accommodation and catering directly in the hotel – ideal for seminars, workshops and group trips.
What technical equipment is available in the seminar rooms?
All seminar rooms are equipped with a projector, flipchart, pinboard and free WiFi. Common rooms and a refrigerator are also available.
Are there any quiet areas for one-to-one meetings or group work?
Yes, in addition to the seminar rooms, there are separate retreat areas available for individual discussions and smaller working groups.
Can breaks be taken outdoors?
